365news gathered that On November 30, 2022, the Bayelsa State Police Command has announced that famous kidnapper John Ewa, also known as John Lyon on social media, will be brought before the court (today).
Asinim Butswat, the state’s police public relations officer, released a statement on behalf of the Bayelsa police force informing the public that the Lyon and his accomplices will be charged in High Court 6 in Yenogoa.
On social media, Lyon is renowned for leading a colorful lifestyle.
When the 30-year-old social media sensation admitted to being involved in two kidnapping cases two months ago, Nigerians were shocked to learn of it.
Lyon, who confessed to the crimes while being paraded by the police claimed that his gang members asked him to give them the address of his former boss, Danjuma Omeje, and that few days later, they kidnapped him and collected a ransom of N45 million from him.
He said that after the operation they gave him N1.5 million to take care of the medical bills of his mother who was sick and in the hospital.
Lyon, who is from Akwagom-Eruan Community in Boki LGA of Cross River State, was arrested alongside his gang leader, Emmanuel Angase.
The statement by the police read, “The celebrity kidnapper John Ewa ‘aka’ John Lyon and others will be arraigned in High Court 6, Yenagoa, today 30 November 2022, by 0900 hours.”
