365news gathered that the Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has cautioned the state’s transport workers’ unions to refrain from using violence.
The state governor gave the security agencies orders to maintain the status quo throughout the motor parks in a statement that was issued by Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, and obtained by DAILY POST on Monday.
Within the state’s transport unions, there had been rumors of attacks between rival gangs.
An official of the National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Osun State and a pregnant union staff member named Doyin are said to have been beaten by irrational union members who went berserk while attempting to seize some motorparks with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons.
The state secretariat of the Union, which is located in the Sadiat Hotel area of the state capital, said that Sunday Akinwale, the union’s financial secretary, was seriously hurt during the attack.
“All union leaders and their supporters are hereby directed to remain calm and bring any grievances to the State Government for resolution.
“Security agencies are consequently directly to maintain law and order,” the statement read in part.
