365news gathered that the Federal Government said on Wednesday that $1 billion had been recovered so far during President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
This was said by Abubakar Malami, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, who was addressing reporters after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja under the chairmanship of President Buhari.
Malami confirmed that the confiscated assets had been used in a number of economic sectors, including the fight against poverty.
He declared that the new Anti-Corruption Strategy Document had been approved by the council, strengthening the nation’s anti-graft campaign.
The minister noted that every option would be considered to address cases of budget padding, which he described as worrying. He also expressed the government’s concern about them.
