The minister of transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, made this statement on Thursday in Ibadan at the Moniya Railway Station during his initial inspection of the 157-km Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge railway.
He guaranteed the security on board the train as well as the safety of rail travelers across the nation.
The minister reaffirmed that the federal government would increase security on the railway corridors while being accompanied by the Minister of State, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, the Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), Fidet Okhiria, and other ministry representatives.
He added, “It is not necessary for me to share that date publicly, I don’t think that will help in running the service.
“Nigerians are interested in the service, in less than two weeks, before the month is over, so just be patient.”
