365NEWS gathered that A man’s birthday turned into a nightmare after he discovered used condoms in his matrimonial bedroom; only to be assaulted and thrown out of his home by bouncers hired by his wife.
After hiring bouncers, the wife approached the Harare Civil Court for a protection order.
Kenias Zimbwa shared his ordeal at the Harare Civil Court, revealing that his wife, Chipiwa Taruona, enlisted the help of two men to attack him. One of the bouncers was her brother, who is a soldier.
According to Zimbwa, the men beat him, left him bruised, and kicked him out of the house naked.
“I came home on my birthday to find used condoms under my bed and when l confronted her she hired bouncers to attack me. One of the bouncers was her brother, who is a soldier. They attacked me, leaving me with bruises, and threw me out of the house while I was naked.
My wife also once attacked me with a screwdriver four times.”
He further lamented that his wife had been denying him his marital rights for months while allegedly engaging in extramarital affairs. He added:
“I was hurt to know that my wife has been having extramarital affairs after starving me of sex for months. She does not cook for me and I am forced to sleep without a blanket or rather on the floor. I am scared that she will end up killing me, I wish the court could protect me.”
In her defence, Chipiwa admitted to hiring the bouncers but claimed it was an act of retaliation. She alleged that Kenias had been abusing her for years.
“My husband is in the habit of sexually abusing me for years. I hired people to attack him,” she told the court.
Magistrate Meenal Narotam ruled in Chipiwa’s favour, granting her a protection order. She advised Zimbwa to file his own application for protection if he felt threatened.
