365NEWS gathered that Nigerians have begun expressing a range of opinions after comedian and skit maker Isaac Aloma, popularly known as Zicsaloma, unveiled his new look following a rhinoplasty surgery in Turkey.
The comedian documented his recovery process in a video shared on his social media, urging critics to “calm down” and “wait for the final result.”
In the post on Sunday, Zicsaloma showed his face still swollen from the procedure and explained that full recovery would take some months.
“I already love my result, and it’ll look way better in one or two months time,” he said in the video.
The video sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporting Zicsaloma’s decision while others expressed concern about his choice to alter his appearance.
On Instagram, #inspired_nuel commented, “Personally, I don’t see the need for this except if it is due to a medical condition. Nevertheless, you are an adult and have the right to take care of your body as you wish. What was the motivation behind doing this surgery? And also, are there any potential future side effects the doctor told you about? All the best, and hopefully the inflammation or swollen face will be okay completely.”
Meanwhile, some followers expressed disappointment at the change. #richacquah on YouTube wrote, “Your nose played a huge role in your comedy. How are we supposed to laugh now?”
#chiomaunegbu5787 echoed a similar sentiment, saying, “Your old look attracted attractiveness to you. You are no longer the same sis ekwi in our minds’ eyes. You should have remained the way God made you.”
Another commenter, #LillianMhandu, shared her feelings, writing, “I like your old nose better; anyone telling you fake nose is better doesn’t like you for who you are. But whatever makes you happy, broda!”
#stefanysculinary added, “Omo, we loved you the way you were. It’s well sha… Your comfortability matters to you… much love, Zic.”
Another comment from #michaelselekumo2067 raised a question about the comedian’s future family, asking, “When you have children, some will definitely take after your look because it’s in the gene. Will you be comfortable seeing your former self in that, your child/children? You’ve fixed your nose, but will you be able to also fix your child/children’s nose and looks if they are born with your former looks?”
#orukpevictor2405 wrote, “Nobody really NOSE tomorrow. Nice one, bro. The only thing is that it’s going to be hard to forget the initial look.”
On the other hand, some fans were impressed by Zicsaloma’s transformation, offering positive comments and wishing him a speedy recovery.
#natashauchenna wrote on Instagram, “Thank you for being vulnerable and for sharing this. You look absolutely good.”
#efetoborapochi commented, “Wow! You didn’t just do a nose job, you did a main character upgrade! The glow is so real even the sun is taking notes. Freedom looks damn good on you, Ma-boi.”
#siruti praised the surgery, saying, “They did a great job. Was a bit scared before, but this was absolutely worth every penny. If it looks this nice now, wait till it fully heals and settles!”
Some fans further expressed that Zicsaloma’s new look was better than his previous appearance.
#preciouskiazolu2349 wrote on YouTube, “Anyone that tells you that your before was better doesn’t like you! The result is amazing.”
Meanwhile, #Sylvias_diary said, “You already look handsome. I can imagine the next six months. You’re going to look very fine. We can’t wait to see it.”
Zicsaloma responded to his supporters on YouTube, promising, “You would see progress results in my skits as I post them.”
