365NEWS gathered that there was celebration at the ancient palace of the Alaafin of Oyo as Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, announced the approval of Prince Abimbola Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo.
Oyo Legacies captured the joyous occasion in a video shared on Facebook, accompanied by the caption: “On the announcement of the new Alaafin of Oyo at the ancient palace of the Alaafin of Oyo.”
The video showed people dancing to the lively beats of traditional drummers.
The official announcement was made on Friday in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, who explained that Owoade was selected following extensive consultations and traditional divinations conducted by the Oyo kingmakers, the Oyomesi.
