Kumuyi shared his reasoning while preaching at the Change Makers International (CMI) conference, held on Monday at the General Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Elekahia, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The sight of Muslim clerics speaking from the church pulpit has sparked significant discussion and debate on social media. In response to the controversy, Kumuyi stated in a viral video that the decision was influenced by the conference setting in a stadium rather than within the church’s traditional space.
He clarified, “People were questioning why I allowed a man wearing a cap to speak. Since we were in a stadium and not in the church building, I felt it was unnecessary to challenge him on his attire.”
