365NEWS reports that popular Nollywood actress and producer Sharon Okpamen passed away on Sunday, nearly a month after welcoming her second child.
The tragic news was confirmed by Jackreece Daniel on his Facebook page, where he wrote, “Nollywood actress and producer has passed on. She was in a coma after childbirth and couldn’t make it.”
Great Edos Platform also confirmed the news on Facebook, stating, “Sharon Okpamen has unfortunately passed on. It’s a sad day for Nollywood and the Edo entertainment scene.”
On July 31, Sharon had joyfully announced the birth of her second child, whom she named Osarhuese, on her Facebook page, writing, “To God be the glory. Osarhuese is here.”
However, Sharon fell into a coma shortly after childbirth and tragically did not recover.
When contacted, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Chief Emeka Rollas, noted that Sharon was not a member of the guild.
Sharon Okpamen, a native of Edo State, was known as a filmmaker, actress, entrepreneur, and humanitarian.
