365NEWS reports that Controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has shared his thoughts on his time at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
The 33-year-old Instagram star was sentenced to six months in prison on April 12, 2024, for abusing the naira, with no option of a fine. He was released on August 5.
In a recent interview on the ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ podcast, Bobrisky described his prison experience as a sort of vacation.
He stated, “I don’t see myself as an ex-convict. I was sentenced for spraying money, which I don’t see as a crime. To me, it was like a vacation—a much-needed rest after all my hard work.”
Bobrisky emphasized that he does not consider himself an ex-convict, despite his recent sentence. He mentioned, “They tried to break me, but it felt like a movie. I did not steal or commit any serious crime. I plan to spray dollars at events in the future instead of naira.”
He explained his decision to plead guilty in court, saying, “I chose to be honest with the judge because I was visible in the video. I thought being truthful would influence the judgment, but the sentence was still prison.”
Bobrisky also revealed that he was housed in the male section of the correctional centre, which he found enjoyable. He said, “I preferred being in the male section because it was more comfortable and I received more attention. If I had been in the female section, I doubt I would have had the same experience.”
- He added that while in the male section, he was treated well and received care and support from others, which he felt would not have been the case in the female section.
