Speaking at the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Lagos on Sunday, Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, emphasized the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law, maintaining the separation of powers, and respecting dissent within legal boundaries.
The President acknowledged the NBA’s role in championing democratic values and reiterated his administration’s dedication to these principles.
He admitted that the path to reforming the country’s past practices involves difficult decisions that may yield challenging outcomes, but he expressed confidence that the current hardships are temporary and that relief is on the way.
President Tinubu urged Nigerians not to adopt a defeatist attitude despite the nation’s challenges, stressing the importance of remaining committed to building a better future.
He emphasized that for Nigeria to achieve sustainable development, the old ways must be reformed, and a new course must be set for the country’s growth and stability.
