Police Arrest Woman Found With 124 Rounds of Anti-Aircraft Ammunition
365NEWS has learned that the Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested Mrs. Hauwa Sani of Doro village, Katsina State, for allegedly being in illegal possession of 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition.
According to a statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramhan Nansel, the suspect was apprehended at Rafin Sanyi village in the Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. She was arrested alongside a two-year-old child.
The statement, made available to Vanguard in Lafia, the state capital, revealed that a preliminary investigation showed the suspect was transporting the anti-aircraft ammunition, which was concealed in a gallon of palm oil, to Katsina State.
Additional items recovered from the suspect included a mobile phone and N78,500 in cash.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered the transfer of the suspect and the recovered items to Force Headquarters in Abuja for further investigation.
It is worth noting that a similar incident involving the arrest of a woman transporting ammunition to Katsina State occurred in the region just two months ago.
