State Govt Bans Use Of School Premises For Social Gathering
365NEWS reports that the Anambra State Government has prohibited the use of public school premises for social events, including weddings, shows, and other forms of entertainment.
The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, through a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu, in Awka on Saturday.
According to Chuma-Udeh, this decision aims to prevent the misuse and damage of school facilities.
“This serves as a warning to all principals and head teachers to refrain from turning school premises into commercial ventures,” she stated. “Any principal or head teacher found engaging in such activities will face strict disciplinary actions.”
The commissioner instructed the Chairmen of the Post Primary Schools Services Commission (PPSSC) and the State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) to ensure that this directive is communicated to all school leaders across the state.
School heads were also urged to adhere strictly to the new policy.
