365NEWS gathered that Afrobeat music singer, Wizkid, in a series of tweets on Monday, set social media agog when he made a mockery of Davido and Don Jazzy.
As a result of the controversial tweet, Wizkid trended on X. He was number 4 on Nigeria’s X trends.
During exchanges with his followers, Grammy award-winning singer dismissed the successful music producer and label owner, Don Jazzy, as an ‘influencer’, and mocked Davido for his recently leaked viral video where he was seen on his knees crying and begging someone believed to be a female associate.
Among celebrities who have so far condemned Wizkid for mocking the two music heavyweights include popular nightlife king, Cubana Chief Priest.
According to him, despite Wizkid’s mockery, Don Jazzy remains forever respected.
He wrote, “Don Jazzy you’re forever respected. Godfather and Legend.”
Tunde Ednut slammed Wizkid for disrespecting Davido. He wrote, “All I know is that Davido will never disrespect Wizkid and I thank God Davido doesn’t even reply to some things anymore. Posting that was unnecessary. Anyways, it’s his time. He should enjoy. Ogun kee una Papa in advance if you insult me.”
“Then he mentioned Don Jazzy. Does Wizkid not have respect anymore? Don Jazzy? What did Don Jazzy do to you? Man wey dey always minds his business. He will talk and you guys will be supporting the wrong thing. Na wa Oo! It is well with all of you in Jesus’ name.”
In another post, he wrote, “You call him an influencer? Big shout out to all influencers, but Jazzy should be respected and kept on a high pedestal. No be your mate in anything.
“Been in this game for more than 20 years. Remove 20 from Wizkid’s age. To date, man still has one of the biggest artists in Nigeria right now, Rema.”
Similarly, a 30BG associate and popular singer, Perruzi simply reacted by stylishly describing Wizkid as a Lizard. He wrote, “Lizard don mad again”.
Kizz Daniel, on the other hand, wrote: “This morning sha”.
Popular actor and skit maker, Mr Macaroni in a tweet on X noted that Wizkid was wrong to have mocked Don Jazzy, whom he described as the biggest entertainment influencer in Africa.
He wrote, “Donjazzy is perhaps the biggest Entertainment Influencer in Africa. And the beautiful thing is that his influence cuts across. From music to content, films, brands etc.
“However, we would all be hypocrites to say that the context in which he was called an influencer isn’t disrespectful to everything he has done and is still doing for the Nigerian Music Industry. An absolute legend.
“He promotes music artists even outside his record label. Gives free advice and visibility to up-and-coming artists, and shows love to everyone irrespective of their status. I am also a beneficiary of his phenomenal influence! Don Baba J!!!! Your Influence Choke.”
Meanwhile, Don Jazzy has unfollowed the Star Boy Records label owner, Wizkid on social media.
