365NEWS gathered that the Nigerian movie industry, again, lost one of its finest recently. Aderounmu Adejumoke, Nollywood actress, popular for her role in the television series, Jenifa’s Diary passed on 8 April 2024.
This was revealed in an Instagram post by her brother, Adeola Aderounmu. In addition to one or two things you might know about the late actress, here are facts about Adejumoke:
She was born 26 March 1984 in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
She attended St. Banerdettes Schools, Ibara Abeokuta, Abeokuta Girls Grammar School, Onikolobo Abeokuta. At the higher institution level, Aderounmu studied International Relations at the Obafemi Awolowo university, Ile-Ife, Osun state. She later proceeded to Gombe state for her mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Her notable works are Alakada, a movie by Toyin Abraham; television series, Jenifa’s Diary and Industreet by Funke Akindele.
Aderounmu won a Ford scholarship at the Africa International Film Festival to study Filmmaking and Acting at La CineFabrique Multimedia in Lyon, France.
Professionally, the late actress began acting in 2008 after featuring in Tunde Kelani’s movie, Arugba.
Apart from being an actress, Aderounmu worked as an on-air personality at Goldmyne Entertainment Presented for Box Office Television shows. She also worked at Concert Radio from 2012 to 2015.
She produced an entertainment TV show titled “The Lounge with Jumoke” in 2012.
Adejumoke Aderounmu won Maya Africa Awards for Face of Nollywood in 2016 and Winner, Scream Awards as New Face of Nollywood in 2017.
