365NEWS gathered that a private jet, carrying over 10 VIPs, experienced a runway mishap in Ibadan, Oyo State, crash-landing at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport around 11 am on Friday.
The incident involving the jet with registration number N580KR occurred when it overshot the runway, ending up in a nearby bush.
Prompt response from firefighters and FAAN rescue officials prevented any casualties. Despite missing the runway, the aircraft, arriving from Abuja, landed safely.
Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) spokesperson, Carol Adekotujo, confirmed there were no fatalities, emphasizing it was a private plane overshooting the runway.
Awaiting further details from the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, it’s noteworthy that this event follows a similar one in November when Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, survived a crash landing at the same airport.
