The Itsekiri Youth For Good Governance, (IYGG) revealed that their attention has been drawn to various lies in the socal media, print media and videos making round the space accusing Hon. Fred Martin that he refused to question Governor Ifeanyi Okowa over non establishment of university in Warri Kingdom especially in Koko.
Also, he, honorable Fred martin is the reason why Koko is without a university or polytechnic. We won’t have come out to straighten the record if what the senator said have any atom of truth. But since we are convince that that all that the Senator have said were lies, we decided to question his persons and also use the opportunity to straighten the record and let Itsekiri Nation know who is lying to them.
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege lied when he said Fred Martin was the reason why there is no university in Koko and also that he never questioned Delta Governor for not establishing school in Koko or Itsekiri land.
It’s s on record today that the governor never establish new schools but upgrade the already schools in the State to university. This is what the governor did by sending an executive bill to the house, it is on record that in 2021 when the bill was send to the State Assembly, he, Hon Fred Martin came out with few other to present a demand why Itsekiri Nation (land) should also be consider for an higher institution, he also working with some group of Itsekiri youth, such as Itsekiri liberation group, Delta State peace movement, Itsekiri youth for good governance and others to ensure that if possible a campus of the university is sited in Koko or Omadino. We remembered then that even members of his party who came to Asaba can attest to this fact.
Secondly, it is on record that Hon Fred Martin engaged the governor by appealing to him to site one of the campus in Koko because this is the only opportunity for the Itsekiri Nation to have an higher institution since senator Ovie Omo-Agege has hijacked it by technically stoping the Koko polytechnic through the establishment of Orogun polytechnic, which senator Ovie Omo-Agege hurriedly did knowing that the Koko polytechnic has already passed through the green chamber awaiting the Senate to also give it approval.
We want to conclude by saying that it is surprising to see a deputy senate president trying to create crises in the state he claim he want to governed. We thought the Senator is enlightened as he claim others are not, when last did he question the activities of president Buhari who he the party leader, he that must speak to Itsekiri Nation should ask himself question if what he is accusing others of he can also do it. Even when governor under his party are questioning president Buhari over the failed money policy he rolled out that has brought Nigerians and Deltans more suffering. He has refused to say anything about that, we know him to be a man of betrayer, like he did in 2017 to 2019 when the Senate wanted to remove president Buhari over misrule he senator Ovie Omo-Agege mobilize other senator to stop such move which would have been much benefits to Nigerians today. Itsekiri Nation will not vote a man who came to their land to cause crises between two brothers rather than canvassing for votes and telling Itsekiri why he hijacked the Koko polytechnic through the back door, he came to sell lies and exposed himself more to the Itsekiri Nation of the kind of person he is.
