365news gathered that Olajide Adediran (Jandor), a candidate for governor in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claims that Lagos marketplaces were shut down so that the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally for Bola Tinubu could take place.
At the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, the APC presidential campaign is currently in progress.
The Lagos administration, according to Adediran, coerced the vendors in the main markets to attend the event.
His campaign spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, highlighted in a statement that the leaders had expressed dissatisfaction with the order not to open today.
Trading violators allegedly faced punishment from the Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee, led by Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo.
Jandor called the alleged action of the state government as “insensitive, callous, barbaric, and criminal.”
The flagbearer said the traders are free citizens whose right to do business is protected by the constitution.
“Any act to intimidate or threaten them to attend a programme against their wish is criminal and inhuman”, the statement reads.
It warned the authorities to stop inflicting pains on people trying to survive the harsh economy “the APC at the federal and state levels have plucked the nation into”.
Jandor advised Lagos residents to keep hope alive as they “endure the remaining days of the inept APC-led administration”.
