365news gathered that Unknown gunmen are believed to have slain at least 10 people on Monday in the Agu-Amede community in the Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State’s Eha-Amufu.
According to reports, the daredevil criminals also looted villages, set fire to homes, and injured other people. It was learned that the neighborhood had been experiencing repeated invasions by these armed individuals, which resulted in numerous kidnappings and the destruction of houses worth millions of Naira.
According to SaharaReporters, the latest attack began on Saturday when the gunmen broke into the Agu-Amede community and killed two people. On Monday, they returned and killed an additional eight people while they were going to and from their farms and inside their homes.
Videos of the attack that were graphically posted on social media showed that many of the victims had their necks cut out and multiple machete wounds in their skulls. The attack was confirmed by a community leader, Augustine Odoh, who spoke with newsmen and added that it occurred on Monday at around 1pm. In addition, he said that by Tuesday, the community would bring the deceased’s corpses to the Enugu State Government House to meet Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. He claimed that all community members who were living outside the community had been asked to return home.
