365news gathered that the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his intention to provide logistical assistance for Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Obi was a previous governor, thus Wike argued that it was necessary to provide logistical support for him during his presidential campaign in Rivers.
Wike promised to provide logistical support for Obi’s presidential campaign on Friday.
The governor made this known as Obi was putting the finishing touches on a flyover in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Wike, however, cautioned Obi that the Labour Party would not succeed in securing any political office in the state.
In remarks made yesterday in Port Harcourt, Wike asserted that Rivers State has only one political party, the PDP.
He said: “I have no regret in saying I will support Obi with logistics. He is a former governor, and if he is coming to campaign here, I will give him logistics support.
“I will give him vehicles, and security; I must give him logistics support. And I told him yesterday that his party will not get even one position in Rivers, not House of Assembly; there is no other party in Rivers. The only party we have here is PDP, Rivers State chapter.”
